Greetings and peace of Christ to you!
The International Youth Commission of the Order recently met (16th to 18th October 2017) to discuss among other issues the Augustinian Youth Encounter that will take place from 15th to 20th January 2019 in David and Tolé, Panamá. The theme of the Encounter is “Heavens and Earth Proclaim your glory, Lord!”, inspired from the Confessions of Augustine 10, 6.2. Thus we would like to share with you this brief information about the Youth Encounter in order to help us prepare and celebrate it well.
A competition for the selection of a Logo and an Anthem for the AYE is now launched. It is opened to all young people from Augustinian schools, parishes, chaplaincies, and other apostolates directly connected to us. We kindly request that you communicate this to our youths for a wider and active participation.
The design of the Logo should bear the essential part of the Order’s Logo: a heart. Other elements could be taken from nature, Panamanian colours or landscape, etc. All intending participants are invited to send in their production(s) through this Facebook address: Eja-Panama-2019
Given the limited time available, the deadline for the closing of the competition and submission of the Logo and Anthem is 15th December 2017. They will be evaluated and voted on Facebook by 25th December 2017. Whichever Logo and Anthem is adjudged the best, the winner will be given a prize: free registration and participation at the AYE 2019 (excluding flight ticket).
A blog will be created and launched with the Logo and Anthem of the AYE on 1st January 2018. From then henceforth registration could be done online and other important details about the organization of the AYE will published therein. The registration cost of participation at the AYE is not known yet but will be separate from that of the World Youth Day and the closing date for the registration will be 31st October 2018.
At the end of the AYE we shall travel together to Panamá City for the World Youth Day. For those interested, provision is made for all Augustinian Young People to stay together as one group during the WYD. Registration for it will be done by the Augustinian Youth coordinator or leader of the circumscription through the website and communicated to Fr. Carlos Alberto Flores Haylock, OSA. He can be contacted or reached through this e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for your fraternal cooperation and understanding as I look forward to a greater participation from your circumscription.
Fr. Edward Daleng, OSA
